Film Standard is published by 1881 Digital, LLC. This policy covers the Film Standard app and filmstandard.app.

Photos and local app data

Film Standard processes photographs on your device. We do not operate a server that receives your photo library, image files, editing recipes, or development history. The app stores imported files, drafts, settings, photo identifiers, cached session information, and development progress locally so you can continue your work.

With your permission, the app reads selected Photos library items and their metadata, including capture time and available location, to organize sessions and develop your selected images. Saved edits, copies, and camera captures are written to Apple Photos. Your own iCloud Photos, device backup, and file-provider settings may transfer data through Apple or other providers you choose.

Camera and location

Camera access is used when you choose to capture a photograph. If you allow location access and enable Save capture location, location may be added to new captures. Existing photograph locations help organize sessions. To display a place name for a session, the app can send the photograph’s coordinates to Apple’s MapKit reverse-geocoding service; successful place labels are cached on your device. We do not receive those coordinates.

You can change Photos, Camera, and Location permissions in iOS Settings. Review photo metadata before sharing; saved or exported photographs may retain location and other capture information.

Purchases

Apple processes payments. Film Standard uses RevenueCat to validate purchases, restore access, and manage Pro entitlements. RevenueCat processes an app user identifier, purchase and subscription records, and technical app/device information needed to provide its service. We do not receive your payment card details. Purchase records may be retained for entitlement, accounting, fraud prevention, and support purposes.

Advertising

The free version displays ads from Guild Ads; active Pro access removes ads. The SDK sends Apple’s identifier for vendor (IDFV), ad serve attempts, impressions, clicks, placement identifiers, and device/app context such as hardware model, OS version, locale, timezone, bundle identifier, and app version. Guild Ads hashes identifiers before storage and uses the data for ad delivery, reporting, fraud review, and publisher payments. It does not use IDFA, request your GPS location, or build behavioral profiles across unrelated apps. Your photographs and editing content are not sent to the ad service.

Analytics and diagnostics

Film Standard does not require a separate user account. We use Mostly Good Metrics to understand app usage, successful photo development, exports prepared for sharing, and purchase or restore outcomes. Events use a randomly generated installation identifier and session identifier, with app version, build, operating system, platform, and event timestamps. The service also receives network request information and derives a country for aggregate reporting. We do not send photos, filenames, photo identifiers, capture locations, recipes, feedback text, or raw error messages to this service, and we disable its optional device-model, locale, and timezone collection. We do not connect this analytics identifier to your RevenueCat identifier or contact information. You can turn off Share usage analytics in Settings → Privacy; this stops future analytics collection and clears events waiting to be sent from your device. We do not configure a separate crash-reporting SDK. If you use a prerelease version through Apple’s TestFlight, Apple provides us with beta usage information, crash reports, and any feedback you submit under its TestFlight terms. Feedback may include your contact details or screenshots you choose to share.

Apple may also process app diagnostics according to your device settings and Apple’s privacy policy. We will update this policy when the app’s data practices change.

Support messages

Our feedback form is hosted by Tally. When you open it from the app, the link includes app version, build, operating system, hardware model (not your personal device name), device family, locale, and purchase level. When available, an anonymous RevenueCat purchase account ID helps investigate purchase issues. It does not include photo content, photo identifiers, precise location, or editing recipes. The form asks for your feedback and email address so we can reply. It does not accept file attachments or attach any photo automatically. Tally also processes technical request data under its privacy policy. We use submitted information to respond and investigate support requests.

If you email us, we receive your email address, message, and any attachments. We use them to respond and investigate your request, and retain them as needed for support and recordkeeping. Please do not send private photographs or sensitive information unless you intend to share it with us.

This website

Cloudflare hosts and protects this static website. It may process request information such as your IP address, browser headers, requested URL, and operational or security diagnostics. See Cloudflare’s privacy policy. This site does not run behavioral analytics, set marketing cookies, create user accounts, or embed the feedback form. Following the feedback link opens Tally, whose processing is described above.

Sharing, retention, and your choices

We do not sell personal information or use your photographs for advertising. Information may be handled by Apple, Tally, Cloudflare, RevenueCat, Guild Ads, and our email provider for the purposes described above, or disclosed where required by law. Their processing is governed by their policies and our service arrangements.

You control your Photos library, exports, and permissions. Deleting Film Standard removes its local app data subject to Apple’s backup and restore behavior; it does not automatically delete items saved to Photos or exported elsewhere. You can contact us to request access to or deletion of support information we hold, subject to applicable obligations. We do not hold a separate copy of your photo library.

Children and policy updates

Film Standard is a general-audience photography app, not directed to children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children through this website. We may update this policy as the app or its services change; the date above identifies the current version.
